Finding Tomorrow - 11:00am-11:30am
Finding Tomorrow met up at Lansing
High School and is based in Ithaca, This pop/rock band blends strong melodies
with high-energy instrumentation for a smooth radio-ready sound. They feature
the dynamic style of drummer Tom Arleo, rounded out by the rhythm guitar and
head turning piano riffs of lead vocalist, Luke Kutler. F.T. boosts a fun, relatable energy through
the songwriting of Bassist/vocalist, Nina Lindberg & Luke Kutler. They get
an additional punch with the punk/ pop guitar style of David Bjanes & Yusong Liu uses the synthesizer to bring
modern leads and experimental pads to the band's compositions. This group of
best friends is currently in production of their first studio album "Two
Saturdays from Now".
The Burns Sisters - 1:00pm - 3:00pm
The Burns Sisters have been singing together all their
lives. Marie, Annie and Jeannie Burns
provide a blend of sweet vocals, countrified pop-rock, and diary-inspired
tales of longing, love, loss, regret and affirmation. Marie finds inspiration in bluegrass,
Jeanie prefers the blues and Annie is the contemporary folkie. Marie sings high harmony, Alto Jeanie sings
low harmony and Annie is a second soprano singing high or low harmonies, depending
on the song. Their music is comprised of beautiful harmonies, emotional
lyrics, joyous, uplifting, catchy tunes and a sweet, spunky sound that is
part folk, part rock, part country and all heart.
The Po' Boys Brass Band - 4:00pm-6:00pm
The Po'Boys Brass Band is a New Orleans-style brass/funk/rock band. The four-trombone front produces a sonic explosion of sound not known by any other brass band standard. From New Orleans standards, to classic rock covers, to funky original music, the Po'Boys are sure to make you dance!
Founded by a bunch of trombone players that was fed up with sitting in the back of orchestras and jazz bands, the Po’Boys Brass Band is a 7-piece power house of funk/jazz/blues and rock. The four-trombone front line produces a sonic explosion of sound that breaks all preconceived notions of what the trombone is capable of. Supporting the trombone powerhouse is a chops-to-spare backline of guitar, drums, and sousaphone…that’s right, a funky old sousaphone. The band plays original charts as well as some tasty covers, conjuring up anything from Stevie Wonder and Tower of Power to Led Zeppelin and Edgar Winter. The band’s close ties to the great city of New Orleans guides the group spiritually, owing a lot of their sound concepts to the Rebirth Brass Band, Bonerama, the Dirty Dozen, Professor Longhair, The Meters, Dr. John, and many more.
Canal Street String Band 6:30-8:00
Formed in Buffalo NY in the summer of 2010, The Canal Street String Band have quickly taken each other's refrigerators by storm, working tirelessly to put a brand-new shine on some seriously fun old American music.
Stellar musicianship combines with an undeniable sense of adventure and plenty of hokum to produce an irresistably good time. The audience has fun too.
Phil Banaszak plays fiddle, mandolin and guitar, and sings. A New York State fiddle champion and member of the North American Fiddlers Hall of Fame, Phil has the lowest-pitched singing voice ever, and a world-class mustache too.
Dave Ruch, a full-time musician/performer/music researcher/teaching artist, sings and plays mandolin, guitar, banjo, octave mandolin, bones, spoons, jaw harp and probably some other things too.
Jim Whitford, a Buffalo Music Hall of Famer and sideman to the stars (Peter Case, Tarbox Ramblers, Gurf Morlix, Linda McRae), rocks the string bass as well as playing dobro and guitar and singing out with all he's got. His dogs have names like Hazel and Merle.

"I just wanted to send you a quick "thank you" for allowing me to advertise in the program for Harbor Fest 2011. We had our best "u-pick" flower day ever at our farm in Lansing the day of the festival. Most of the folks that came to pick flowers had never been to the farm before. They came because they saw our ad in your beautiful, color program.
"Keep up the good work. We'll be back again next year."
